Membership

Parents, teachers, students, family, friends, neighbors, and community members are all invited to join the AHS PTSA. Yearly dues are $5, a portion of that goes to support state and local PTSA's educational concerns, and the remainder helps support the financial goals of the PTSA for our school, teachers, and students. A growing membership is an important part of the work of the PTSA because more members means we can do more for our school.

For additional information about PTSA membership send an e-mail to: "mailto:membership@ahsptsa.com"

Membership forms are available in the Main Office or by clicking here

Getting Involved

The Apopka High School PTSA works closely with Principal William Floyd to implement many programs within the school that the students and faculty enjoy and benefit from. Last year the AHS PTSA was able to help the school with a variety of activities such as raising funds for the school, hosting hospitality events for the teachers and staff, and providing volunteers in different areas like the What's Next Room where students can get information about college. The PTSA also recognizes outstanding seniors each year through various Darter Achievement Scholarships.

One of the major goals for this year is to increase parental involvement in our school. Increasing parental involvement in high schools benefits everyone: parents, teachers, schools, and especially the students. Studies have shown that of the schools identified as educationally outstanding, a large percentage of them had developed strong partnerships with parents. Research also shows that the most important predictor of a student's achievement in school is not income or social status, but the extent to which that student's family is able to become involved in their children's education. Children learn more and have increased opportunities when the school, parents, and community work together.

We have many committees that are active at different times of the year and require various levels of commitment. By getting involved you will get to enjoy interacting with the students and staff, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference.

Please note that volunteers must be approved every year through OCPS:   https://volunteer.ocps.net

Brick Fundraiser

Become a part of Apopka High School's History! Students, parents, faculty, alumni, and friends are invited to purchase a personalized brick that will be used for our new Apopka Darter Wall of Pride which will be located around the track inside the stadium.  Not only is this a great way to show your Apopka pride, but the funds raised will be used to benefit our school.

Brick details:

$50 for a 4" x 8" brick without clipart or a senior brick with a unique logo for Class of 2008

We are also offering a $15 keepsake mini brick replica for you to use at home

Bricks are engraved using state of the art laser technology to ensure durability for years

Without clipart bricks personalized with up to 3 lines of 20 characters/spaces per line

With senior logo bricks personalized with up to 3 lines of 12 characters/spaces per line

Our goal is to have enough bricks to work into the architectural design around the new stadium, so please place your orders early. This will be an ongoing campaign for the AHS PTSA, and orders will also be accepted throughout the year.
