Career Training
Not interested in going to college for four years but would still like to train for a great career? Community colleges and technical schools offer training in specified fields from medical assisting to business management. There are programs that take a few months to a couple of years. You can earn a certificate in a field or spend a little longer in school and earn a degree.
Community Colleges: A link to all of the community colleges in the country. Facts.org has a link of all community colleges in Florida. Valencia Community College and Seminole Community College are local.
Orange County Public School technical centers - There are many private technical schools that offer great training. Unfortunately they offer the training at a hefty price. Many of the same programs are offered through workforce education where you can get a great education for a TINY fraction of the cost! Check out your options.
Trade School.org - A resource for students and professionals looking for a career-oriented education. The web site assembles a large network of fully-accredited colleges and universities specializing in training individuals for careers in design, technology, business, culinary arts, automotive and photography.

Job Shadow Day - Job shadowing is an academically motivating activity designed to give kids an up-close look at the world of work and to answer the question, “Why do I have to learn this?” Beginning with a nationwide kickoff on February 1, 2002, and continuing throughout the school year, students across America “shadow” workplace mentors as they go through a normal day on the job.
