• Know the various atomic models that existed over time

• Know some experimentation (subatomic particles) that allowed the atomic theory to be proposed

• Know Dalton’s atomic theory and the assumptions that were revised

• Know the 3 subatomic particles, their location, and physical properties

• Know how to determine atomic number and atomic mass from the periodic table and use them to count subatomic particles in an atom

• Understand what an isotope is and how to calculate average atomic mass

• Know what an ion is and how to use the periodic table to figure out the charges of them (cations and anions)
