Chapter 3 Atomic Structure
- Know
the various atomic models that existed over time
- Know
some experimentation (subatomic particles) that allowed the atomic theory
to be proposed
- Know
Dalton’s atomic theory and the assumptions that were revised
- Know
the 3 subatomic particles, their location, and physical properties
- Know
how to determine atomic number and atomic mass from the periodic table and
use them to count subatomic particles in an atom
- Understand
what an isotope is and how to calculate average atomic mass
- Know
what an ion is and how to use the periodic table to figure out the charges
of them (cations and anions)
